Caring for Our Planet
Story House Egmont Limited takes looking after the planet and its inhabitants very seriously and sustainability is a key priority for our business. We are constantly looking at how we can improve our products and processes, and reduce the impact they have on the environment, whilst also ensuring that they continue to be safe and durable.
Paper & Forestry
We aim to use paper from well-managed forests run by responsible suppliers.
When we produce our magazines we use FSC paper. FSC stands for ‘Forest Stewardship Council’. FSC are an international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry. FSC certifies forests all over the world to ensure they meet the highest environmental and social standards.
Products made with wood and paper from FSC forests are marked with a ‘tick tree’ logo. When you see this logo, you can be confident that buying it won’t mean harming the world’s forests.
Plastics and Recycling
We are members of OPRL and work hard to provide clear guidance to our consumers on how to dispose of and recycle our products responsibly.
Plastic Gifts & Packaging
Currently all of our single-use plastic packaging can be recycled with regular household waste or at a recycling facility. Our plastic gifts can also be recycled. As these are less widely recyclable by local councils, we will recycle these for you – just send to us at:

The majority of our products are created by Story House Egmont however where, on occasion, we source products from third party suppliers, we try to ensure that our partners share our values and approach.
Magazines & Sticker sheets
All of our magazines are fully recyclable with the exception of some covers and sticker sheets. All recyclable elements are clearly signposted in our magazines – just look out for the ‘Recycle me!’ notice.
Polybags
Our polybags are all recyclable as well with the exception of foil bags, which we are hoping to find a more sustainable option for in the near future – and we are making sure that this is clearly marked on product too.
